THE LEATHER MONEY FORMULA
To let children participate with their peers, Leergeld applies a special working method: the Leergeld formula. The Leergeld formula is an important part of our way of working and consists of the following steps:
3 Steps
1. Home visit
Families who ask Leergeld for help are visited at home by an intermediary after making an initial application. During a personal interview, the need for help is inventoried and the income and (possible) debt situation is checked.
2. Mediation
Options are discussed with parents or caregivers based on existing/present facilities provided by others, such as municipalities or other agencies/organizations.
3. Follow-up
After processing the applications received at Leergeld, contact with the families concerned usually continues. A new application can be submitted via email or the application form.
